Abstract |
The effect of overweight can be demonstrated by the fact that diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease increases dramatically throughout all ages. As a part of the Project on Health Care under the ministry of Health & Welfare, it recommends obese people to begin exercising regularly and consumed a diet low in fats. This project is designed to help people in their care of overweight and obesity, a growing public health problem. However, it`s not easy for them to change their life styles. To make this process even easier, we must set up a clear object based on scientific theories. It is expected that the most important key to success is to find clear relationships between exercise habits and total energy expenditures, and between obesity and weight control. Researchers have identified several factors, which affects and results in a syndrome of obesity. However, there is no evidence that the cause of obesity is resulted from either eating habits or lack of exercise. Because they`ve made a distinction between energy intake and energy expenditure before a evaluation, they couldn`t find what factors cause obesity exactly. Obesity can be determined by the measurement of the level of physical activity and total daily energy expenditure. Therefore, many researchers around world are marking every effort to find appropriate measurement techniques for these. This study not only brings on basic information regarding the obesity, but also serves as a good introduction to making to reader understand the double-labelled water method which is known as the golden standard for energy expenditure. |
