Abstract |
The study, with the purpose of assessment on the effects of creatine as an exercise support to Korean wrestlers who were trained highly, examined the effects of it on the isokinetic muscular function by 5-day prescription for 13 Korean wrestlers, varying the amount of dosage with each per weight. Thirteen subject performed 24 maximal voluntary isokinetic contraction at 240 deg/sec, before and after 5 days of placebo (n=7) or creatine (n=6) oral supplementation. In the placebo group, muscle peak torque% body weight were increased, but no differences were seen comparing muscle peak torque, total work, total work% body weight, average power, average power% body weight, endurance ratio in all subject. In the creatine supplementation group, muscle peak torque, peak torque% body weight were increased, but no differences total work, total work% body weight, average power, average power% body weight, endurance ratio in all subject. A short period creatine prescription, which is a support to exercise ability improvement, has no effect on exercise ability whatsoever. |
